Getting Found on Google — What NeoBookworm Does for Your SEO

Search results list on a screen representing appearing higher in Google search

When someone searches Google for a plumber, electrician, kitchen fitter — or any trade — the businesses near the top of that list get the calls. The ones buried on page two rarely get found at all. Here’s what NeoBookworm builds into every site from day one, and what optional extras are worth considering.

What’s included in every NeoBookworm site — at no extra charge

Your trade and location in the right places. Every page is written with your trade and your location woven naturally into the headings and descriptions. The main heading on your homepage won’t just say “Welcome” — it’ll say something like “Plumber in Swindon and Wiltshire”. That one change makes a significant difference to how Google understands your site.

Consistent name, area, and phone number on every page. Google uses consistency as a trust signal. All NeoBookworm sites include this information in the footer of every page, formatted consistently.

Hand-crafted meta descriptions. The short description that appears in Google search results under your link is written for every page — mentioning your trade, your area, and giving a clear reason to click.

Schema markup. Hidden in the code of every NeoBookworm site is structured data that tells Google precisely: this is a local business, this is what they do, this is where they operate. It removes any ambiguity and can help your business appear in richer search results, including star ratings shown directly on the Google results page.

Fast loading on mobile. Google ranks websites partly based on how quickly they load on a mobile phone. NeoBookworm sites are built to load fast by design: clean, lightweight code with no unnecessary extras.

Optional extras — at additional cost

Google Business Profile setup — £75. Getting into the map pack — the three businesses shown at the top of local search results with a map — is often more valuable than ranking highly in regular results. We handle the full setup: verification, category selection, description, photos, and matching your site details exactly.

Directory listing submissions — £49. We submit your details to six key UK directories (Yell, Bing Places, Apple Maps, and others), all formatted consistently to match your website. A one-off task with a lasting positive effect.

Additional service pages — £49 per page. If you want a dedicated page for each individual service, each can be added. Dedicated service pages help Google match your site to more specific searches and tend to generate more targeted enquiries.

What good results realistically look like over time

A new website doesn’t appear at the top of Google overnight. Search engines typically take two to four months to fully index a new site and start ranking it. Over time, especially if you collect Google reviews regularly, your visibility will grow. Most tradespeople find that within three to six months, they start appearing in local searches for their trade.

We don’t guarantee specific rankings — nobody can honestly do that. What we can guarantee is that your site is built to best-practice standards and gives you the best possible starting point.

What you can do on top of what I've built in

Everything above runs automatically — you don't have to think about it. If you want to push your ranking further, three things make a measurable difference, in order:

  1. Keep your Google Business Profile active. A photo a week, the occasional post about a recent job. Five minutes, big impact.
  2. Reply to every Google review, good or bad. Google sees the activity and ranks responsive businesses higher.
  3. Mention the towns you cover by name in any new content you send me. "Loft conversion in Marlborough" beats "loft conversion." Specific town names are the single biggest lever for local ranking.
